1) Chinese Language Teacher

EduGrove is looking for passionate and dedicated Chinese Teachers to join our teaching team. We are especially looking for teachers who possess a positive and bubbly disposition and who want to teach in a “FUN way”! If you love children, have 2 years experience teaching Chinese in Singapore, love children, and can speak and write fluently in English, then we want you!
 
 
Responsibilities
 
  • • Conduct Chinese enrichment lessons according to the teaching plan provided with enthusiasm.
  • • Teach using specially designed fun-filled interactive activities, drama, and games to students from Playgroup level to pre-schoolers, primary and/or secondary school students.
  • • Plan, review and evaluate lessons.
  • • Update and correspond with parents after each class.
  • • Provide regular feedback and updates to parents on their child’s progress after every class via text messages, phone calls or emails as applicable.
  • • Be sensitive, caring and attentive to students’ needs and well-being.
  • • Provide clear and confident explanations about programmes and activities to prospective customers.
  • • Update and tailor-make existing curriculum to better suit each class.
  • • Assist the Head of Curriculum in developing the course curriculum.
 
 
Requirements
 
    • • Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Education / Chinese Studies / Chinese Language or other related degrees from reputable universities(E.g. NUS, NIE, NTU).
    • • Candidates should be proficient in English and Mandarin spoken or written.(Lessons will be conducted in Mandarin and communication with parents in English)
    • • Candidates with experience teaching in the primary or secondary levels in Ministry of Education Schools are preferred.
    • • Must have a good understanding of Ministry of Education’s Chinese Mother Tongue curriculum.
    • • Must be passionate about learning and teaching.
    • • Must love working with children.
    • • Must possess a fun-loving, energetic and bubbly disposition.
    • • Candidates with experience or training in drama have an added advantage.
    • • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications, eg. Word, PowerPoint. Outlook
    • • Must be able to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays. (5-day work week)
Selected candidates will undergo at least 6 months of training (depending on level of teaching experience) before being assigned to teach.
 
 

2 ) Customer Care Coordinator

Responsibilities
 
  • • Attend to walk-in customers and incoming phone/email enquiries
  • • Provide professional course consultation and excellent customer service to prospective customers
  • • Work closely with the Centre Manager in student placements and scheduling of classes
  • • Communicate and coordinate with customers in ensuring prompt follow-up and closure for all enquiries
  • • Process student registrations and payments
  • • Correspond with existing customers through phone, text messages, emails and letters
  • • Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers
  • • Perform a variety of administrative duties in support of the day-to-day operations
  • • Ensure the safety and appropriate behaviour of students at the centre
  • • Tidy and prepare the classrooms before lessons
  • • Provide professional course consultation and excellent customer service to prospective customers
 
 
Requirements
 
  • • Fluent in English and preferably in Mandarin too, to handle English and Mandarin speaking customers
  • • Confident and tactful in handling customer’s needs
  • • Passionate in providing excellent customer service
  • • Possess good communication skills
  • • Must love children and am comfortable with them
  • • Possess a cheery and pleasant disposition
  • • Meticulous and systematic with administrative procedures
  • • Has a good eye for details
  • • Excellent team player with a people-oriented personality
  • • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and other administrative applications
  • • Applicants with experience working in tuition or enrichment centres have an added advantage
    • • Work hours: Shift Basis.
    • – Weekdays 8:30am – 5pm or 1pm – 10pm
    • – Saturdays 8:30am – 7:30pm
    • – Sundays 8:30am – 6:30pm
    • – 2 off-days per week
