Our PSLE Chinese Preparatory classes cover all four components of the PSLE Chinese Language exam.
Students practice writing skills through written exercises such as letter writing, note taking, and longer narrative compositions based on a set of pictures. Our PSLE Chinese tutors use learning reinforcement techniques to improve vocabulary and creative writing skills.
The paper tests students’ ability to read and understand various pieces of media – past PSLE papers have featured newspaper articles, excerpts from magazines, and interviews. EduGrove students benefit from having ample practice with a wide variety of reading material, curated by former PSLE curriculum writers in our team.
Our PSLE Chinese tuition classes include listening comprehension practices that replicate the exam environment. Following each practice, our tutors provide constructive feedback and contextual clues to help students identify keywords to listen out for during the actual exam.
EduGrove prepares students for the PSLE Chinese oral exam through active learning and role-playing activities that encourage students to converse naturally with confidence. Classes offer opportunities for students to vocalise their answers and think on their feet, just like in the PSLE exam format.

EduGrove’s approach to preparing students for PSLE focuses on building long-term memory recall rather than the traditional rote learning methods used by other centres. Our students learn Mandarin in the context of how it is used in real life, rather than being limited to the exam format.

We help students understand their strengths and weaknesses in the PSLE exam, and tailor classroom learning to provide more practice for areas in need of improvement. Classes run for 2 hours and 30 minutes to provide focused and intensive learning.

EduGrove’s curated study materials, practice papers, and interactive online modules provide students with resources to reinforce their understanding of Chinese language concepts and hone their exam-taking skills. We regularly update our resources to suit the latest topics and changes in the PSLE syllabus.

Our PSLE enrichment classes feature an all-Mandarin environment that helps students familiarise themselves with Chinese words, intonations, and fluency. We are passionate about creating a positive learning experience that fosters a genuine love for the Mandarin language.

EduGrove actively communicates with parents throughout the exam preparatory process, providing regular progress updates, parent-teacher meetings, and workshops. We recognise the important role that parents have in supporting students for their first national exam.

61% of our primary level students scored AL4 and above, and 99% of our students improved by at least one grade in the Chinese language. Our teaching team consists of former MOE PSLE markers and curriculum writers who provide specialised insight into the exam format.

EduGrove’s way of conducting Chinese lessons requires a very special breed of Chinese teacher. They are dedicated educators focused on meeting the needs of every class as a whole and every individual student in their care. Essentially they take on the role of form teachers. Working closely with parents, EduGrove teachers are concerned as much with the holistic development of their students as they are with nurturing and improving their Chinese studies.
Our teachers are also able to communicate with English-speaking parents and work closely with them to improve their child’s Chinese language abilities.
EduGrove has assembled a team of industry experts to specially design a set of curriculum that combines with our award-winning methodology to ensure students excel in their national exams.
Covering all commonly tested keywords, oral, comprehension, composition and listening comprehension, EduGrove students are confident and well-prepared when it comes to taking on their PSLE and O-Levels!
We use drama, word games, and creative activities interactively not only to excite, motivate, and inspire, but more importantly to coax the students to vocalise and apply the keywords and phrases taught. These dynamic learning tools also help students remember more effectively.
Learning a language doesn’t have to be a chore. Research has shown that children learn best through play and that’s why our classes are designed to get away from the traditional rote-learning way of learning Chinese. Our curriculum is designed to ignite every student’s desire to learn, which means every activity is designed to be FUN!
Instead of focusing on the tedious memorisation of keywords, we use drama and word games in all classes from Preschool through to Primary and Secondary to help students remember lesson content in a more FUN, ENGAGING, and EFFECTIVE way!
